Thoughts from the Pastor

Camp Ground UMC

Thrive in 2025

 Welcome!

Thrive in 2025

Our Goal for the year is to THRIVE! It’s more then a tagline, we see it as a set of values that guide our actions in all we do. We seek to be relevant to the community and congregation we serve, to be fair to our neighbors and to be Christ like in all that we do.

We are committed to living out these values by serving in ministries and missions that work with in the church and our greater community. We encourage you to spend some time exploring our ministry page or reach out to us. We know that God has a place for each of us to serve, using the gifts he has given us. When we do this, we are following Christ's example and sharing His love with the world.

Be relevant to THRIVE:

Being a part of the United Methodist church means being part of a rich history that stretches back through generations. From the traditions of our church, the hymns we sing, to the ministries we offer; much of what we do is based on that heritage. But we recognize that the world is constantly changing. Here at Camp Ground UMC we are committed to striking a balance that shares our traditions with a new generation while meeting them where they are at. We focus on using our heritage as a stepping stone to the future, and not letting it prevent us from growing into all God has planned for us.

Be fair to THRIVE:

We know that we live in a divided world, full of opposing view points and passionate activists defending their cause. At Camp Ground we are committed to treating all people fairly, no matter what their background. When we join together for Holy Communion, we are reminded that all are welcome at Christ’s table. We seek to extend this welcome in all our ministries. When we treat each other fairly, we can come together as a body of Christ.

Be Christ like to THRIVE:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

In much of what we do, we find ourselves asking the question how? How do we reach people and bring them to Christ, how do we grow our church, how do we mature in our faith. The bible provides us the answer to all these questions, we can do all things through Christ. When we choose to love like Christ; to welcome all like Christ welcomed Samaritans, the poor and the lame; to help all those we can like Christ did, we find amazing things happening. Here at Camp Ground we encourage every person to commit to being Christ like in all they do.

Have you committed to these values in your life? We would love to hear your testimony and learn about the blessings God is sharing with you. Please reach out to us at nccampgroundumc@gmail.com.
